FAQ

Q: When did you decide to become a writer?

A: When I was a kid. I always loved to read and one day I decided I'd like to write my own stories. I really didn't get serious though until I started The Final Twist, Houston Chapter of the Sisters in Crime. I was so jealous of our members who were published that I sat down and completely rewrote NINTH LORD OF THE NIGHT.

Q: What types of books do you like to read?

A: Everything!!! In the fiction genre I read Mysteries, Sci Fi, Romance, Westerns, Horror, Inspirational, Mainstream, Historicals. I also read a lot of science. I have a library filled with books on biology, geology, archaeology, history and religion - both ancient and modern.

Q: What do you like best about writing?

A: Creating the story and then polishing it to make the characters come alive.

Q: I see from your page of upcoming works that you don't write just one type of story. Is that so you won't be typecast?

A: Not really. I write what I'd like to read - what interests me. Since I like to read different genres and also across genres, then that's what I like to write. So many tales to tell!!!

Q: Who is your favorite writer?

A: Wow!!! That's a tough one!!! I guess Stephen King http://www.stephenking.com/ is at the top of the list - at the moment anyway because I'm writing a ghost story.

I adore Pauline Baird-Jones www.paulinebjones.com for Romantic suspense.

For English Mysteries I don't think anyone comes close to Jo A. Hiestand http://johiestand.com/

Q: If Ninth Lord of the Night gets made into a movie - who would you like to see play the character of Zack?

A; (Laughs) I can't answer that!!!
I would like to see William Fichtner http://www.williamfichtner.org/ play the part of Uncle Clifton. He's one of the few actors whose career I've actually followed. I'm amazed at his range - he's a fascinating actor who can play any type - hero or villian.

Q: If you weren't a writer, what would you be doing?

A: Just enjoying my family and reading a lot. I doubt I'd be ruling the world or anything.
